Cracked Egg Cafe in Kernville

Great restaurant with good food and reasonable price. Employees were talking a lot while we were eating, nothing wrong with that, but couldn’t help but over hear some things that were not quite appropriate. Good food though.

Cook must have been having a bad day.. because our plates were nasty! Two separate parties around us did not finish their plates aswell

Best breakfast in California. Big portions at a good price. Everything is good including the coffee. The service is great, always a smile from the ladies. Eat here every time I visit.

Very fast, very friendly and most of all very tasty. We only had an hour before our rafting trip so we phoned in a group order and it was ready within 15 minutes. We ordered 2 French toast, pancakes, vegetarian omelet, Cracked Egg skillet, and a Country skillet. I was shocked our our food was ready so fast. It was exactly what we needed before tackling the Kern River.

Prices are reasonable. The was excellent and staff made us feel right at home.

Poor service and took over 2 hours to get our food. It wasnt even packed.

Amazing breakfast spot! We stayed the night in the town and started the morning off with the most incredible breakfast: polish sausage skillet with avocado & the Dan the Man tri tip omelet, so delectable. Not pictured are the pancakes, side sausage patty, and enormous side of fresh baked biscuits w gravy. Definitely recommend! Also: good location next to shops and galleries, plenty of free parking, cozy interior with table and counter seating, and very friendly staff :)

I give 2 stars for a convenient location, otherwise it would be 1. We sat outside on a nice day. The patio and tables are filthy and everything else is in need of maintenance. The food is comfort food for sure. Potatoes and eggs saturated with oil, cheap bread with a blob of butter in the center. I am not sure who is writing the other reviews but if you want greasy comfort food in a dirty environment this is your place.

Great place! We've been here a few times and have had great experiences every single time. Everyone has been friendly and the food is good. I've had the Skillets and pancakes. It's all pretty good. Make sure to check out their specials of the day. Friday evening was nice in there. Very few people, quite, and warm on a cold day..Their chili is ok, only reason I'm giving 4 stars. Got some heartburn from such a small amount lol. The pancakes are just the way pancakes should be. Light and fluffy. The staff is very nice. The breakfast tacos are the best!

Such a quaint little restaurant. Outside seating during covid-19 or they have take out. My breakfast was so delicious. They serve lunch to and closed down afterwards.

This was such a quaint little coffee shop (and I do mean little). There are only a few tables and a counter with chairs but the service was very friendly. The coffee and food was very good and a healthy portion. The prices were about the same you will find at IHOP but the food tastes like home . I will definitely go there again!!

Eh foods OK. But they have one person working the grills so it was really slow. They're family run so I imagine that's why they're short staffed. Nothing they can do about that. But they burnt the outside of my steak but somehow left the inside Rare? So that was disappointing. At least the eggs and hashbrowns were good.

This place is always a must go to when in kernville. Usually we go for their pancakes, but this time we went for lunch. My group ordered a bacon cheeseburger, half rack of ribs with potato salad and I got their shrimp in a basket with onion rings 😋😍. Everything is fresh to order. Oh and we got fried mushrooms and cheesy potato wedges for appetizers. Everything was delicious! I recommend their pancakes for breakfast. It's enough for 2 people.

Just stopped in for a cup of coffee. Cute little diner. The people were very nice. I hear they have great fish & chips on Friday night, but they don't have a vegetarian friendly menu.

Visited 2 years ago and enjoyed a tasty breakfast this time however the coffee was cold the refill was cold. The scrambled eggs were cooked on a meat hot plate and looked and tasted gross, the sausage patty was overcooked burnt on one side. Bacon was inedible seriously could not bite through it. This disaster of a breakfast 2 hours? Will not be back for a third visit. Very disappointing. Went immediately to the Big Blue Bear and had a coffee and snack

Amazing food and the best staff ever. Will come here everytime were in Kernville and will refer this cafe to everyone.

Great food great atmosphere local hotspot very affordable with loads of food good small town home cooking. If you're making a trip up the Kern River definitely your first food stop and last.

This restaurant is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I want to go to a fair supper, this restaurant comes immediately to my mind. Great and food and a large menu.generous team, and good vibes. Also, the cost is good. I recommend this place with no hesitation.

The fresh HOME MADE cornedbeef hash is delicious and with two poached eggs on it ,even better. The biscuits and gravy are good with nice big pieces of sausage in it and a little fresh sage would make it even better in my opinion. What I would also like is if they served grits.Totally recommend this place!Good country breakfast.

Great Food, Great Service, and Great Prices

A bit pricey but a great little hole in the wall with good food a portions.

I just liked their dishes. I always get excellent customer service there. The place is well kept and the cashiers are always welcoming. Highly recommended.

Fabulous Breakfast with enjoyable service. More food than we could eat with the best flavors and taste. All that you could want with that small local cafe, hometown appeal.

This place is great! Service is wonderful and the food is amazing. Lots of variety in the menu and breakfast is served all day. Definitely been around awhile and a local favorite. Highly recommend. Pricing is comparable to other "like diners", i.e. 2 adults ate for +/-$30 including drinks.

Small place but really good! Not too pricey real laid back especially for people comin from camping! Small interior but there is outdoor seating. Normal complaints from outdoor seating sun flies bees. Food was fantastic real food! My husband said the corn beef and hash was the best he has ever had and was real homemade stuff! I went simple cheese and ham omlette delicious and so was the biscuits and gravy!!

Best breakfast place in kernville. Food so good I ate here 2 days in a row. The biscuits and gravy are great go too. As is the breakfast burrito. And for the amount of food you get the prices are pretty cheap

Everything about this place was very middle of the road. Mediocre eggs, low quality bacon, burnt sausage, and pretty decent French toast. Service was nothing special. Dirty outdoor, slanted bench. Vegetarian omelet had bacon and excuses were served up instead of apologies. We also really enjoyed sitting in direct sunlight.

They took over 2 hours to make our “to-go” order. I literally ordered a breakfast burrito and hash browns on the side. They literally took so long for this. I’m very disappointed with this place.

Always enjoy Cracked Egg, great food, friendly waitresses, and always local friends to chat with. Javier is an awesome cook and never had something to eat that I did the like. Beer batter fries are totally excellent

Best breakfast place in Kern river Valley. Portions are huge and delicious. We get the mini breakfast which is plenty of food, and you can get a biscuit and gravy as the bread which is a must. Get there early as they are small and very busy. There is outdoor seating and customers being their dogs. Highly recommend the French toast too.

I absolutely enjoyed the food and customer service, great area very close to my house. The workers are always kind. Highly recommended.

It's about $12 for the average plate, but you get a lot of food! I happened to sit right by the kitchen, and I saw a lot of great dishes go by. All of them were large size portions.

This is the friendliest place in town. Staff is excellent and service is GREAT !!!!!The food is priced fair considering how much they put on your plate.Always have to get to go containers, cause we can never finish everything. So if you want some FANTASTIC food and GREAT service I highly suggest making a stop at THE CRACKED EGG .
